When we set out to create ABODE, one of the things we were most excited about was covering some of the design projects we are working on. Most of these featured projects will be personal, but we will also sprinkle in a few client projects. As realtors, we are constantly immersed in the worlds of architecture and design and love to create the best version of a space. This will be our place to document that and bring you along for the ride!

Today, we are excited to unveil two projects that we are working on, both in the same magical place: Black Butte Ranch!

First up, the Black Butte Cabin Garage Project. Over two years ago, my husband and I purchased a cabin on the 15th tee box on Big Meadow golf course. We completely gutted and renovated the cabin (at some point I will document this), but after using the house for a few years, we knew we needed to add a garage to complete the property. And, while a garage may sound boring, we decided to add a bonus space above it with a kitchenette, bathroom and living room. We had some killer architectural plans drawn up and will be breaking ground this fall!

The next project is the Gasperson’s Black Butte Cabin. I daresay that I influenced the G’s on this one by constantly talking about how much we love our cabin and BBR. We were pumped when they purchased an adorable cabin not far from ours and are currently in the middle of a full gut/reno project. Estimated completion date is June!

One of the fun things (there are many!) about partnering with Mandy is that our style is different, yet complimentary. Mandy leans a bit more modern, while I lean a bit more traditional. We both agree that less is more and timeless should always be a trend. So, while we are both working on projects in the same locale with the same contractor, they will undoubtedly end up being different and beautiful.

Today, we will tease you with the mood boards for our spaces. But, as time away from selling homes permits, we will continue to update you on the blog with progress, details and plans. Stay tuned!
